Prana Yoga Teacher College
was founded in 1982 by shakti mhi. Firmly grounded in Classical Hatha Yoga, they
offer both Level I (200 hour), and Level II (500 hour) yoga teacher training
programs. The learning has been described as “experiential, profound and
transformational”. Prana Yoga Teacher College has just become the first yoga
teacher training facility in the North America to be accredited as a
post-secondary organization of higher learning. They are also fully certified by
the Yoga Alliance for our Level I and level II programs. Teacher training
programs are offered in various locations around the world, including Vancouver,
Vancouver Island, BC on a stunning 83 acre private lakefront retreat, Shanghai,
China, Mexico, Antigua and in Thailand at the world renowned "Sanctuary Resort and Spa"
at Had Tien Beach on the island of Koh Pangan.
This magical bay of Had Tien Beach is surrounded by one of the last remaining
virgin rainforests in South East Asia which is only accessible by boat or on
foot. We will have exclusive use of a custom-built 2000 sq. ft. Yoga Hall and
private accommodations. The first 7 people who sign up for the program and pay
in full receive DISCOUNTED/PRIVATE accommodations at The Sanctuary.
Thailand is a warm and welcoming country with a population whose gracious
demeanor is legendary. The Sanctuary is a wonderful oasis for passing tourists
from around the globe.
Another powerful aspect of this unique yoga teacher training program is the
ability to shift to a clean diet for healing, as well an opportunity to move
from unhealthy habits, into a new way of holistic living. The Sanctuary, under
the guide of its owner and expert chef Gill Beddows, offers the most extensive
vegetarian and cleansing menu anywhere in Asia. This along with spending a month
in a stunning tropical destination and intense practice leads to healing on all
levels, physical, emotional and mental.
Because Prana Yoga believes in personal attention, the groups are limited to 25
participants.
All the programs are registered and approved by the Yoga Alliance, the world’s
largest Yoga association. All successful graduates are eligible for membership
with the Y.A., which has recognized professional designation around the globe.
