the MamaCocha to the Uros Floating Islands, made of the totora
reed that grows in the Lake and named after the Uros people who inhabit them.
Receive a warm welcome from these friendly island dwellers. Share the fruit,
etc. that you may have brought with you for them; they will be most
appreciative! Also, take the opportunity to support their meager economy by
purchasing their richly colored hand-embroidered tapestries, pillow covers, rugs
and more. A highlight of the time on the islands will be a visit to one of the
schools, to meet the children and their teachers. (Note: This would be a good
time to distribute art supplies, as well as any second hand clothes that you
might have brought with you.)

hotel for lunch. Free time in the afternoon. Perhaps you’d like to take a taxi
into nearby Puno for some exploration on your own and/or retail therapy in the

Day 12. Sunday, July 22. Lake Titicaca: Aramu Muru’s Doorway and Art Project
with local children (B/L/D) |
|

spot of Aramu Muru’s Doorway. Upon arrival sit in the Inca’s Sun Seat
that faces the Lake to connect with its nurturing feminine energies. Then
walk along a large rock formation in the shape of a serpent and puma to connect
with the energies of the Lower and Middle Worlds. Then on through a wonderland
of strange natural rock formations, passing by the mysterious Valley
of the Spirits and finally trekking down to the Doorway. Jorge will
share his story of how his dreams led him to re-discover this ancient power
spot, an interdimensional doorway! Your family will have time for meditation and
exploration of the area. You may also meet some of the local folks who are the
guardians of this sacred site. No doubt the children will come out to say “Hola”
and give you sprigs of plants that help with the altitude.
Return to the
hotel for lunch. Afterwards take part in an Art Project with some
of the local children from outlying rural areas around the Lake who will be
brought to the hotel. This is a great opportunity to teach all of the children
the value of focusing on what they want to create in their lives, how having
goals is important in life, and how visualizing them through this art project
will help them to manifest! The children will create images on their bed sheets,
using fabric paints and markers. Each child will leave with a sheet that they
will then sleep wrapped in each night, surrounding themselves with the energy of
their dreams and goals. So, bring your loving and creative self and let’s give
these children an experience that can affect them very positively for years to
come. (Translators available!) Group dinner at the
hotel. Overnight Chucuito. |
 |
