Our retreat will weave the wonders of Bali into your
inspired creativity and unite your senses, heart and
mind with reflective self-discovery in her luscious
embrace.
Our time together is spent in East Bali, in a lush
river valley of terraced rice fields in the midst of
tree-clad hills straddled by the imposing presence of
the sacred mountain, Gunung Agung. Nearby Sidemen is a
small weaving and farming village, still relatively
untouched by tourism, where the climate is always
pleasantly warm.
The Nirarta Centre is the tranquil setting we call
home for the first half of the retreat. As you unwind
here you find that the sights, sounds and smells of
the grounds and surroundings of Nirarta naturally
attune your unfolding rhythms. Accommodations are
tastefully appointed two bedroom bungalows set amongst
the tropical gardens overlooking the Unda River.
On this retreat you explore Bali's healing influence
as inspired through your creative expression with
clay, paint, collage and local materials- without
needing any previous art making experience. Retreat
facilitator and Gestalt therapist, Laila Ghattas,
leads reflective discussions about your creations,
gleaning insights which promote deeper self-awareness
you can then apply to your life choices.
The days will be a balance of creative expression,
reflection and gentle walks through the rice fields
and woods, along peaceful paths leading to nearby
Sacred sites and hidden temples and scenic drives to
locations of interest. Weavers, farmers, and local
families happily share their culture with typical
Balinese hospitality and spirit of welcome.
You enjoy plenty of private time for journal writing,
relaxing massage, dips in the river and daydreaming.
If you are interested, there is a twice-daily
meditation program you have the option to join in the
light and airy 8-sided meditation room with views over
the rice fields.
On the sixth day of the retreat, we prepare to leave
and tour south towards Penestanen, a little town
outside the Artisan Mecca of Ubud. Our new emerald
location is called Taman Rahasia, the Secret Garden.
The elegant
bungalows, fishponds, restaurant, and swimming pool
are surrounded by lush green gardens, full of the
fragrances and sounds of the East These bungalows
sleep two and each has a private veranda with
comfortable lounge sofas and chairs overlooking the
pool .
On this portion of the retreat we enjoy the morning
yoga classes, swimming and creative activities. Guided
walks to nearby temples and into Ubud perfectly
punctuate time spent deepening your self-knowledge and
body wisdom through creative expression, reflection,
yoga and relaxation.
You leave this gentle paradise refreshed, reawakened
and reconnected.
