Happy New Year!
As we begin 2010, I am reminded of January's virtue - courage. This is a theme that resonates with all, I'm sure. How shall we build courage and where do we find it within ourselves? We have all faced many challenges and are certain to face more as we continue to tread on our journeys, so we must be courageous to confront all that comes our way. Many begin the year with resolutions that fall by the wayside only one week into the year (sound familiar), so why not resolve to begin the year with action and courage? These are resolutions which we cannot, and must not let go of, for they are what will inspire and motivate us and help us to transform.
One of the most courageous things one can do in life is to encounter him/herself truly, unabashedly and authentically. We wear so many masks on a daily basis and take on so many roles that we often lose ourselves in a seemingly endless abyss of personas. But to follow our life path and complete our life's work, we must find the courage to know who we really are.
