Tour Description

Join us in a heart-opening journey to celebrate the Spring Equinox at Machu Picchu with Andean Medicine Man, Healer and Wisdom Keeper, Puma Quispe Singona. Explore the mysteries of the majestic Andes and find enlightenment and inspiration in this warm and harmonic land. Stroll around the colourful town of Cusco, wander through the lush Sacred Valley of the Incas and travel back through time while rediscovering ancient Incan sites in Ollantaytambo and Pisac.

As we seek out various temples and sacred sites, and experience and participate in Sacred Ceremonies and Traditional Rituals led by Medicine Men and Wisdom keepers, we will be deeply immersed in the enigmatic culture of the Incas. Connect with Pachamama (Mother Earth), the Incan goddess of fertility and the harvest, and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for this great Earth. Open your heart as you listen to the whispers in the wind and let the Condors guide you to find your inner peace and balance.

Enjoy a unique opportunity as we immerse ourselves in the local community and experience the joy and peace of the Peruvian culture and people. Let their smiles and laughter inspire you to show kindness to all who you encounter and remind you to share joy with yourself and the world.

Our Optional Excursion to Lake Titicaca is an opportunity not to be missed. Explore the tranquil waters of Lake Titicaca and the Uros Floating Islands. These islands, made of Tortora reeds, are home to the Uros people who, according to legend, existed before the sun when the earth was cold and dark. The islands attract visitors from all over and offer an opportunity to learn about ancient practices and traditions and a chance to admire the simple way of life of the people.

On behalf of our journey participants, Sacred Earth Journeys will be donating $50 per person to Ayni Ayllu Weaving Cooperative, a local foundation close to Puma’s heart as well as our own. This wonderful initiative is run by  Puma's family, specifically his mother who has been a constant support in the renewal of wisdom and strength in the local community of Chinchero.  The purpose of the initiative is to preserve the ancient Andean traditions of weaving arts, while inspiring women and children to manifest their inner light through the practise of weaving.  Workshops are offered to teach and renew the ancient ancestral Incan wisdom and spirituality so that the traditions can be carried forth with the new generations.  Workshops on family and childcare are also offered to help impoverished families so that they may receive the tools necessary to create a safe space for women and children, while teaching them important skills to help them find more opportunities for work and self sustainment. The initiative also focuses on education and offers classes such as English, Science and Mathematics for orphaned and underprivileged children, who would otherwise not have the chance to go to school, while encouraging them to strive and learn and believe in themselves. We welcome other donations to help strengthen and grow this inspiring program.

Comments from past travellers

Words cannot express the appreciation I have for our trip to Peru. It was such a meaningful and heartfelt journey. Thank you to Helen and Sacred Earth Journeys for providing a truly authentic experience and for bringing us to Puma, our guide. Thank you to Puma for helping us to explore ourselves as we explored this sacred land. I am filled with gratitude.
Rosemarie Asterino, Nine Mile Falls, WA (Peru - Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/11)

I had a fabulous time in Peru. The group was interesting with a great variety of people with same interest in the Spiritual. We all got along quite well. Puma our guide was great, such good mastery of the English language, a very good sense of humor, a great knowledge of the history and the Spirituality of his country. He took very good care of us. It was a bonus that he should be a shaman as well. He shared his knowledge very freely and we felt very safe on all levels. I loved the ceremony with his friend shaman in his village. The pacing of visits was smooth and not too taxing on our energy. The fact that we had our private bus was really a bonus, it made moving around much easier and comfortable. It was a great experience. Thank you SEJ for your organization.
Muriel Wattinne, Queensland, Australia (Peru – Heart of the Pachamama – Sep/11)

Peru was amazing, and we all fell in love with Puma. My kids had a very special connection with him. Peru is such a feminine energy that I always felt at home. As a matter of fact, as soon as we arrived in Los Angeles, the air felt so thick and uncomfortable that I wanted to get back on the plane to South America. I loved the majestic scenery, the kind people, and terrific food. Every day was a true adventure and full of excitement. I would go back tomorrow. Thank you.
Maria Quezada Hernandez, Aliso Viejo, CA (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/11)

Peru is the South American equivalent of Egypt. Its a magical ancient country and culture that has so much to share with us, if only we stop and listen to what she has to say. I can think of no better way to be introduced to Peru’s words and Pachamama (Mother Earth) wisdom then through the guidance of an Andean Shaman. Thank you to Sacred Earth Journeys and Puma for making that magical introduction happen between me and Peru. I look forward to returning to Peru again, she’s under my skin now.
Karen Breeck MD, Ottawa, Ontario (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/11)

My trip to Peru with Sacred Earth Journeys was fantastic. From the very beginning, Helen Tomei graciously accommodated special travel dates and situations, and made it all work for us. Our tour leader, Andean Medicine Man, Puma Quispe Singona, was the perfect guide, providing us with wisdom, humour, compassion, and a tremendous understanding of the Peruvian spiritual beliefs. The ceremonies and meditations were all I had hoped for. And Peru itself was more than I could have ever imagined. I'm so grateful that I had this experience!
Marcy Strate, Hawaii (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/11)

Sacred Earth Journeys is providing a unique and exceptional service that I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who is interested in having authentic, expansive and uplifting travel experiences. My journey with them to Peru provided me with a safe, like-minded and nurturing container in which to attain my spiritual intentions plus more. It was a great way to travel alone as well. The people in my group were open-hearted and shared similar values which gave me an immediate sense of belonging and freedom to be who I am. Thank you Helen, Puma and Jorge for such an incredible and life-affirming experience.
Alexandra Shewchuk, Vancouver, B.C. (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

The trip to Peru left an imprint on my soul . I returned a different person. My experience in Peru was like visiting another dimension. That experience of another dimension was given life by the sacredness of the areas we visited. Our guide - just being in his presence was a sacred gift, his energy was like a ray of sunshine, and within him he carried a wealth of wisdom well delivered. Our group - it was a family reunion, we truly were family. Though, physically far apart we will always be family, after our experience together in Peru. It was really hard returning to the world, we call our reality. Whenever I feel like I am loosing my balance in this reality, in my mind, I return to my Peru experience, that place of wholeness and balance. Just last night I had a dream that included my Peru family. In the dream, we were tracking through a forested area, when we decided that we were hungry. At the end of the forest was an Old Country Buffet, which is a generic buffet in the US, but when we entered, it was an elegant place with the finest of food. The table was already set for the ten of us. The experience in Peru was not just a trip; it was a journey of the soul and a pilgrimage that enlightened the spirit.
Gloria Gates, Everett, WA (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

This trip surpassed every expectation. It was a rich, textured experience. Thank you Helen/SEJ for your excellent job in laying the groundwork for this wonderful mind, heart and soul expanding-adventure.
Linda Harris, Vancouver, B.C. (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

After drooling over the various itineraries for months on the web site for Sacred Earth Journeys, I decided to take the plunge and book the trip to Peru. There were so many books that were talking about Peru and how the Earth's kundalini energy is there now, as well as the mystery and power of Lake Titicaca, that I felt this urgency to go. Friends had asked me if I was nervous about going alone in a group where I didn't know anyone, but I couldn't wait to be amongst a group of people who shared the same passion for the books and ideas that I was interested in. I was looking forward to making these connections as much as experiencing the physical sites we would visit. My expectations were exceeded on all counts! We had the best guides, Puma in The Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and Jorge Luis Delgado in Lake Titicaca. I felt very privileged to have gone to Puma's family home in Chinchero and to enjoy Jorge's hospitality in his hotel in Lake Titicaca. They were both outstanding in their knowledge and their deep connection to others and to the planet. The sites, experiences and relationships formed will stay with me forever. A big thank you also to Helen for creating all of this for us to enjoy and also to her partners in Peru for making it so seamless! I loved it SO much that I am now taking a Sacred Earth Journeys trip to Egypt!"
Kathy Holme, Vancouver, B.C. (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

The Heart of the Pachamama journey to Peru with Sacred Earth Journeys was life changing for me. I started this trip with the intention of discovering who I AM; and, by the end of the journey, I no longer felt confused about what I seem to be with who I really AM. Knowing who I AM, I still my mind, greet my courage and seed myself in faith. I am no longer burdened by my fears and have divorced myself from my past and the future. The consciousness that brought my spirit here is the consciousness that will guide me safely through my life. My path is illuminated by Divine Light and I take each step forward with faith and love. I dispel the limits and inhibitions of the past, and I intend to live each day from this moment on elevating my consciousness and being lifted into the future of myself. I can indeed count my blessing to have been able to reconnect with my Soul Family and our wonderful guide, Puma.
Martha Robles, Airmont, NY (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

This journey for me, was like the passing through of a magic door. In most cases, one does not see a magic door, even as you are passing through. But once you are on the other side, you feel different...or you come closer to who you are. To travel with like-minded souls. To open my heart to and to awaken along-side of them, was truly the most sacred of gifts. The landscapes, sacred sites, and the most beautiful and expansive tour guides, made this journey exceptional. I am forever in your gratitude, Helen. For making this moment in my life possible. I will hold it forever in my heart, and look forward to endeavouring on many more with your outstanding company.
Fiona Moger, Mentone, Australia (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

I have traveled to Rome and thought it was the best trip of my life. However, after going to Peru my feelings are way over and above the Rome trip. I have noticed the change within me. I have gained so much knowledge about Mother Nature and the ancient Inca people. Today is the best day of my life past and present - a quote from Puma who stated this to us every morning. Again, I will never forget what a journey this was. I recommend this journey to everyone. My spiritual journey was something I will never forget and always remember. So rich in spirit and nature that you will feel different. Today I have tears in my eyes as I think of the journey in my life and I am forever grateful. Puma was excellent in wisdom and sprit. He is a very old soul.
Daisy Rubio, Lakewood, NJ (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

What a fabulous experience. Truly life changing. One thing that I was not expecting were the friendships and deep connections that I would make with the other travelers. We were all very much on the same path and some of us made bonds that will truly last a lifetime. Another thing I was not expecting was the amount of emotional clearing that would take place. Even though I knew this was a spiritual journey, I didn't realize the depth of the "process" that we would be experiencing. I highly recommend this type of trip for anyone who is on a similar path.
Rose-Anne Kumpunen, Toronto, Ontario (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/09)

Life and the participation in Living occurs only once! Once your whole life long! It is up to each individual to seek out and experience Living at such an intensity that the vibration of the Soul equals the vibration of the Universe…the Cosmos! With this trip to Peru, I was a witness and a participant in the Vibration of Ancient Wisdom that has forever changed my perspective of Life and has changed the course of my Living. I feel more alive and ‘in sync’ with the Cosmos, God, and the Higher Self, than I have ever been aware before. It is a rare and wonderful privilege to walk where the Ancients walked, taught, and lived. Walked with the Ancients as they walked and lived their choices. One can feel wisdom seep into every pore and meld into every thought though the experience of being where the past and the present make history! As Puma said, “One must know their past in order to know where their future lies!” How wise, how insightful, how true! At Machu Picchu….I was physically standing on the precipice of solid rock while looking into deep ravines, without the security of ropes or rails, and through meditation and silence, I was standing on the precipice of my Power, without the doubts and limitations of frail human beliefs! All the shackles of ‘man made’ fears gone….only the whispers of the Ancient Teachers can be heard.

To walk in the footsteps of those with such wisdom and understanding and the knowledge of what it means to live, is an honor and a privilege….and I will aspire to walk where my history guides me into the future. Thank you for providing such a deep opportunity for such a rich lesson.
Collista Zook, Vancouver, WA (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/08)

The ceremonies by Puma were very heart-centered and positive. The visit to the ancient Aramu Muru doorway is not to be missed if you have a chance to go to Lake Titicaca. This is an ancient real Stargate with many stories and myths surrounding it. You may get some insights after meditating there. Who knows? Maybe you'll disappear into another dimension...
Tanoyo Tanoko, Vancouver, BC (Heart of the Pachamama - Sep/08)

This excursion was the first guided tour, of any kind, we have participated in. I believe because of the topic and subject matter, that the guidance was captivating and extremely powerful due to the sacred locations and the spirit of all our hosts. The work at hand is important and inspiring and we are honored to carry forth the essence of what has been awakened in us. A good friend of mine can be heard saying “all roads converge”. Many months ago a seed was planted and spirit, knowing our hearts, brought us to this journey for amazing life changes – this “convergence of roads” is undeniable!!
Gregg Markovich & Lauri Duran (Peru: Inca Mysteries & Magic - Jun/06)

El Cajon, CA I was interested in travelling to Peru and decided to go with Sacred Earth Journeys because I figured that going to such a spiritual place should be appreciated within that context. I wasn't sure how I was going to fit in because I thought that the group might be a little 'out there'. Helen assured me that there were all types, and she was right. In fact, everybody had something very interesting to add to the group dynamic. The Lake Titicacca excursion turned out to be an incredible life-affirming and life-altering experience for me. I remember our tour leader Andrea saying, "there is life before Peru, and life after Peru". I thought she might have been exaggerating; however, I can now attest to the truth of her statement. Thank-you Helen for facilitating this journey.
Tara Alain, Vancouver, BC (Peru: Inca Mysteries & Magic - June/05)

Expect to have your senses and emotions, your heart and your soul inspired and transformed by this tour to Peru. This is a trip that aims to touch the very centre of your being - and it delivers! Helen at Sacred Earth Journeys will take care of all the arrangements for you. Jorge and Andrea will take good care of you on the trip. They all did an exceptional job!
John Luckey (Peru: Inca Mysteries & Magic - June/05) Ottawa, Ontario

The Sacred Earth Journey trip to Peru is an opportunity not to miss, particularly the Inca Mysteries and Magic trip I participated in during June, 2004. Helen Tomei in Vancouver co-ordinates the trip, and takes care of organizing all the finest details from the plane ticket to the hotels, and anything else you request. I just had to show up to enjoy the adventure. Helen's knowledge and passion for travel makes her a great travel adventure representative, and the uniqueness of the trips she represents is strongly reflected by her web page. After three weeks, I left Peru with a renewed sense of awe at the legacies so many of the spiritual sites offer to those seeking to experience a deeper spiritual dimension. It was quite a humbling experience to participate in group ceremonies at the many sacred sites in the Sacred Valley, and the leadership, knowledge and wisdom of the group tour leaders, Andrea and Jorge enrichened the experiences. Through exploration, I learnt so much about the history of the temples and sacred places, but practising the ceremonies lent an "experiencial" element that deepened my understanding of these temple sites. The night ceremony at Machu Picchu will remain a highlight to the trip. Standing beneath the stars of the Milky Way, and surrounded by the beauty of Machu Picchu, I felt privileged to have an opportunity to connect on such a personal level with the stones, apus and pachamama. The trip was both a communal and personal journey... the fellowship of the group kept the energy fun and interesting, and all in all, the trip was a perfect blend of laughter, adventure and spiritual pilgrimage. It was a unique visual and spiritual feast, and something I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Susan Rogers (Peru: Inca Mysteries & Magic - June/04) Vancouver, B.C.
