Founded in 2003 by Helen Tomei, an experienced travel industry professional and veteran traveller, Sacred Earth Journeys is dedicated to providing a more meaningful and rewarding travel experience, through visiting the most important sacred sites and culturally rich destinations of the world.
 

As a licensed travel agency/tour wholesaler (B.C. Reg. No 28465), Sacred Earth Journeys Ltd. is a government regulated company which subscribes to the highest possible ethical and professional standards as required by the British Columbia Travel Registrar. Unlike many other jurisdictions, our customers enjoy the security of a government administered travel assurance fund, which protects their money in the case of certain negative eventualities (i.e. insolvency or bankruptcy of suppliers). Our ability to operate is based on our ability to demonstrate both financial soundness and high professional standards.

Our Mission

To provide opportunities for spiritual growth and personal transformation by visiting some of the world's most important sacred sites, and to facilitate learning of many ancient spiritual traditions through their wisdom teachings, sacred rituals, ceremonies and healing practices. We are committed to small groups, carefully crafted itineraries, and trained professional leaders who are experts in their fields.

Helen Tomei, President

Helen Tomei transformed her passion for travel & spirituality into a successful tour business devoted to providing travelers more meaningful experiences at sacred sites around the globe. As a travel industry professional for more than 20 years, Helen traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia and Europe before deciding to share her travel & spirituality interests with individuals and groups. In 2003 she founded Sacred Earth Journeys and holds the role of visionary president. Her company has twice been honored with the Inspiration Entrepreneur of the Year award, presented by the British Columbia Urban Entrepreneurial Development Association in 2004 and 2005, and in 2006 was featured in the book Waking up the West Coast: Healers & Visionaries. Sacred Earth Journeys has been featured on radio and in several prominent newspapers and magazines. Helen is now grateful for the opportunity to make positive changes by sharing with others her enthusiasm for global awareness, personal growth and journeys of transformation.

Helen makes special mention of her late father, Jack Pearl, who took her, at the age of 12, on a life-changing adventure to Peru. Looking back on it now, this was the beginning of her life-long passion for travel to exotic, soul-stirring places.

Daniela Masaro, Staff Writer

Daniela Masaro, a long time student of indigenous cultures, ancient philosophies and world religions, is a veteran global butterfly.  She was bitten by the travel bug at the young age of 3 when she was whisked away to Italy by her parents to visit family and to tour their native home.  Since then she has lived abroad and travelled through 5 continents. After spending a  decade working in the travel and tourism industry, she felt like there was something missing in typical travel experiences.  Her passion for travel, combined with her unique spirituality, led her to join Sacred Earth Journeys as a Tour Coordinator.  Now back in Toronto,  Daniela continues her work with SEJ as Staff Writer and Editor, developing and writing inspiring itineraries as well as designing and writing the monthly e-newsletter.  Her hopes are that her words will inspire others to explore this wondrous Earth so that they can realize how similar we all really are, no matter where we come from.
