\"\"<\/a>The lives we lead take us along many different paths. Some paths are straight, some are curved, others are filled with dangerous switchbacks. We encounter strangers on our path, some of which we will never see again, others who become life-long friends. Sometimes our paths cross with the same people time and time again, as if almost by \u201caccident\u201d. Then there are times when we long to bump into a missed connection, but can never make it happen. The one thing that we all have in common though, is that our journey is our own and no two paths are alike.<\/div>\n

Whenever I think of life, of all the choices we make and the paths we choose to tread, I am always reminded of Robert Frost\u2019s poem, The Road Not Taken and the lines, \u201cTwo roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference”. This poem has always inspired me, as I\u2019m sure it has done for countless others.<\/div>\n

We are all faced with choices in life and while it can be less worrisome to choose the safest and most familiar path, sometimes it is worth the adventure of taking the road less travelled. Sure, this can be scary at times, but the reward can also far outweigh the risk.<\/p>\n

Even though I do somewhat believe in fate, I also believe in opportunities of free will and choice. We may end up at the same destination at the end of our life, but we can at least choose the path that gets us there. And as they say, the journey is far more important than the destination itself.<\/p>\n

So the next time you come at a crossroads in life, take a step back and look carefully at your choices and the opportunities available to you. It might be worth considering taking the road less travelled at least once or twice.<\/p>\n
