Journey to the Land of the Maya is the first offering in our series, Maya Sacred Path to 2012, designed as sacred sites tours focusing on select aspects of Mayan teachings and key Mayan sites.
This year we will visit sites such as Tulum, Chichen Itza, Labna, and more. We will participate in special ceremonies to connect with the sites we visit, and learn about Maya wisdom and culture. We will make new friends as we travel through this illuminating land and grow spiritually as learn how ancient wisdom can still guide us today.
For our 2005 journey we will be joined by Miguel Angel Vergara Calleros, our teacher of the Maya Wisdom, who will lead us in sacred ceremonies and share the wisdom of the ancients he has gathered through his in-depth studies and vast experiences. Also joining us is Dr. Richard Jelusich, whose passion for, and connection with the Mayan world, have kept him returning to this wondrous land many times over. He too will share the insights and wisdom he has gathered from his experiences and will also lead us in discussion with informative evening lectures.
Please note that it is not required that you commit to every year in the Maya Sacred Path to 2012 program, you may join us for one or more journeys as you please. Each tour is a stand-alone program.
Are you ready to join us on this spiritual travel program to the land of the Maya?
We start our journey in the historic city of Merida, now the capital of the Yucatan. Here we will meet our tour leaders and our fellow travellers as we set off on this life-changing adventure.
We then travel to the impressive cliff-top site of Tulum, overlooking the Caribbean Sea, before continuing on to Chichen Itza where we will visit the observatory (El Caracol) and the Kukulkan Pyramid. Here Miguel will teach us about the importance of this well-known site and lead us in ceremony to fully connect with the energy here. We will also have an opportunity to visit a sacred cenote near Chichen Itza to refresh ourselves after our visits.
Our journey continues to the ceremonial site of Labna where we will walk along the Sacbe and through a beautifully decorated Mayan arch, considered a gateway to another dimension. Here we will connect once again with the energies of Mother Earth.
Towards the end of our journey we will enjoy a special farewell dinner together as well as a powerful closing ceremony with Miguel. We then return to Merida where we can reflect on our transformative spiritual journey together, enjoy some final shopping, and prepare ourselves for our flights home.
