Why Try Yoga?

[socialring]

Well, if you have ever had a knot in your stomach, been sick with worry, or lost your cool, try yoga.

The benefits of yoga are hundredfold. Yes, of course, we would all like to look better in a leotard, but let’s look at some of the psychological benefits associated with the practice of yoga:

Well, first of all, we know yoga trains our bodies. We feel fitter, stronger, have better posture and are more aware of our bodies. This makes us feel good.

And this good feeling can actually extend into accepting that maybe our bodies don’t look as we imagine they should in a leotard. Yoga helps us to be more accepting of ourselves, and our environment. Hostility, depression, anxiety and stress are lessened as our well-being increases.

But beyond this, as yoga helps us remove all the clutter from our minds, leading us to a space within ourselves that offers peace of mind. The space was always there; yoga just helps us to dive in and find it.
